Munich
Ernest Hemingway already said:
"You needn't bother going anywhere else. I can tell you: you can't beat Munich, everthing else in Germany is a waste of time".
It is always worthwhile visiting Munich, irrespective of whether you come alone or with a group of persons, in the spring, summer, autumn or winter, e.g.:
- the art areal with its galleries Old Pinakothek, the New Pinakothek and Pinakothek der Moderne
- the Deutsches Museum, the world's biggest scientific-technical museum
- the beautiful beergardens, ranging from very big ones (such as the Hirschgarten with approx. 8,000 seats) to small dreamy and hidden oases
- the numerous celebrations and festivals, starting with the Oktoberfest and including various Christmas markets in the whole city as well as the Tollwood festival
- a huge choice of shopping facilities in the inner city, in numerous arcades, shopping streets and shopping centres
- leasure time facilities and sight seeing tours as e.g. the Olympiapark München (Munich Olympic Park), the Bavaria film studios, Sea Life Munich, the soccer stadium Allianz Arena, etc.
