Upper BavariaUpper Bavaria features diverse sights, to which you can make tours. The National Park Berchtesgaden offers a good opportunity to nature lovers to enjoy the nature. A trip to the Watzmann mountain may make the day perfect. The Watzmann is surrounded by the lake Königssee, which holds a surface of 5 square kilometers and which offers a great variety of leasure time facilities, e.g. you can take part in a tour on the lake. Upper Bavaria's literally greatest attraction is the Zugspitze. The mountain with a height of 2962 meters is located in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the district of Pfaffenhofen you can find the beautiful Scheyern monestary as well as the basilica of Ilmmünster, which you should of course not fail to visist during a historical journey through Upper Bavaria. People who prefer spending their time at the water are recommended to go to the lakes in the surrounding area of Munich, such as the lake Starnberger See, the lake Ammersee and the lake Chiemsee. Splendid views and quiet places may provide a piece of mind. Further beautiful places are e.g. the Herrenchiemsee castle, the Andechs monestary, the salt mine of Berechtesgaden, the Wieskirche church, the Ettal monestary and there are a lot of more.
